If you are looking for a fantastic quality digital camera, consider purchasing a Canon. This corporation is known to deliver fantastic quality advanced cameras that stand the test of time. Once you decide on the brand name of your camera, you want to find out more about the designs as well as the price point that goes with them. Canon makes several different designs for different levels of use. You need to think about what functions you want to have in your camera and how much you can afford to pay. The primary question to ask yourself is What are all the things I want to do with my camera?

For alot that can never make up their mind, knowing the different classes of Canon cams can help make that final decision. Each of the classes has a set of makes that are similar in design, but vary in features. Heres an overview of each class.

If you take pictures professionally or plan to, the SX and G series is a fine line of cams to select from. These are SLR cameras. They all have over eight megapixels with a big variety of shooting modes and functions. For around $250, you can own an SLR cam with some of the features found on both medium and high price models, the SX110 IS. The best quality and most expensive in this series is the G10. It can take pics underwater if placed in a waterproof case

If you want a tiny cam with a fancy looks plus advanced features, you may want the ELPH or Electronics Physics cams. As of now, there are seven different models available. The preferred camera from this class is the PowerShot SD1100IS partly due to the idea it gives you five different colors to choose from. many of the more expensive SD series cameras have an advanced DIGIC4 image processor. This enhances picture quality automatically and has an auto correct feature that works well even for the beginning photographer. Prices for these classes are from $180 to $400.

If you do not plan to travel a lot or are short on cash, an A series cam will be just perfect for you. They do not have many settings but are still better than most cell phone cams. These cams all come with the DIGICIII image processor. This will auto fix the white balance with each picture. Its face detection feature brings out facial features and fixes skin tones. The different models in this class have different megapixels. The A470 camera retails for a very affordable $100, others in the A series have a varying price tag.

The latest in Canon digital cameras is the E series. This camera is sporting a new design with curvy lines and three different pastel colors to choose from. The controls have a unique layout than usual adding to their design. You will only find one cam in this series, the E1. It has some of the same features found in a mid range cam.

More information about these classes can be found in the Canon site. This should help you a lot better in deciding what camera is best for you.
