Blizzards World of Warcraft is undeniably the worlds number one MMORPG out right now. With over 12 million members paying to play the game, its no wonder the game is such a big hit and hot topic around the gaming community. But lately because of the bad economy, a lot of members are forced to find a way to play World of Warcraft for free instead of paying to play on the retail servers.
So where do the many World of Warcraft subscribers flock off too when they've realized they cant pay for their monthly subscription anymore? They find private servers. Private WoW servers allow members to play World of Warcraft for free. Sounds great doesn't it? Well at first glance, it seems like a great idea. Who wouldn't want to play WoW for free? However, there were some issues about the private servers that really turned me off. You see, playing World of Warcraft for free has its drawbacks. The game play on most servers is unfair. There is obvious preferential treatment to players from administrators in some servers that Ive been to. The lag is unbearable. They ask for donations which in turn beef up donators items which affects game play between donators and non-donators. It just seemed like a mess compared to retail. But I guess that's the cost for playing for free.
Its just not fun when someone else has a great advantage because they donated to the server. After hopping from server to server only to find the many disadvantages of it, I realized I greatly missed playing on retail. But since I'm just starting out college and I have no job, I could not fund my World of Warcraft addiction. Thus, I started looking for ways I could make money online. This took a lot of research but in the end I was happy with my results.
It feels great to actually be able to play World of Warcraft for free! With the money I earn online, I just pay off my monthly subscription and use whatever money I have left on other things like, rent, school books (I'm in college), or even other games that I want to play.
All in all, Im really happy that I can support myself by making money online. Its free and easy and does not consume much of my time. Best of all, I get to play World of Warcraft for free. You can read my review about it on my website.
